This Is The Hunt
NY Con Help
Welcome to “This Is The Hunt – NY Con Help.” A community of fans (who have also lost money) have gotten together to help all “Heroes of The Shadow World” attendees with information and updates.
This site is intended to be a source for sharing information as people navigate legal options. In hopes of getting the New York Attorney General to take the case and get a lawyer to take on a class action lawsuit, we hope to gather information on this page to show how much money the company has taken from attendees.
*Updated as of 11/4/22 at 12:06pm (109 entries submitted)
*Note: My apologizes – the noted number of $37,229.35 at 7:47pm (9/24/22) was incorrect/miscounted. At the time it only recorded 19 entries.

I think the reason card disputes go against their policy is because if we win our dispute we get 100% back but according to their policy they keep 2.5% of our money if the event is canceled. Which is total BS! We deserve 100% refunded!! #JalmicsRefundNow pic.twitter.com/dvjmptnQbB

Its clear that Jalmics don't have the money for refunds. They wouldn't need a plan to try and figure out how to give refunds if they had the money. They're stalling and filing for bankruptcy, is what they're doing. #JalmicsRefundNow pic.twitter.com/qWBiNQ3jqI

@JalmicsINTL i don’t even know what to say. when i arrived with my friend, we did NOT have a room and had to pay and find a hotel on our own after waiting 5 hours at the Marriott. You are not being truthful or fair. This is NOT okay. #JALMICSREFUNDNOW

Thank you Marriott Marquis Times Square, event moderators Emma, Taylor, Brit and the entire cast and crew of Shadowhunters!
We would like to thank the Marriott Marquis Times Square for their support after the unexpected cancellation. The Marriott extended the discounted convention rate to everyone who had to pay for rooms they had already purchased through Jalmics. They also extended the discounted breakfast rate, despite the broken contract. Additionally, the Marriot Marquis graciously allowed us complimentary use of part of their bar/restaurant area for the impromptu meet and greet visits from some of the cast members, even sending staff to clean tables, move chairs and lower the music volume to create a pleasant atmosphere for us.
Thanks also to the event moderators Emma, Taylor and Brit who learned of the cancellation while traveling to the event and decided to make sure those of us in New York took some good from the weekend. From setting up meet and greets, arranging games by the Shadowhunters bench in Central Park, you donated your time to all of the fans in an extremely stressful situation.
We would also like to thank the entire cast and crew of Shadowhunters. It is not lost on us that this cancellation also affected all of you and we know that you also learned of it via Twitter. Your messages on social media, offers to answer questions and fulfill autographs meant a great deal to us. Special thanks to Luke Baines, Dominic Sherwood, Anna Hopkins, Alan Van Sprang and Matthew Daddario. Each of you went out of your way to see those of us in New York, answering our questions, posing for selfies and signing autographs for us even though you were under no obligation to do so. Matthew, thank you for giving your entire weekend to us and making sure we got out and saw the city. While we did not get anything close to the event we paid for or any support from the organization that cancelled the event, we will never forget the caring and dedication of the most amazing cast and crew ever.
Love does indeed make us stronger.
